You can successfully use PLR content and still get great rankings on search engines.
First let's talk a little about search engine optimization. Many people think that the search engines will not rank you if you have duplicate content. This is partly true, but it is more to the degree if you copy a site or sites exactly. If you are worried about SEO and you would like to use PLR content, you should purchase the content and then do a slight rewrite. You only have to change the text a little bit in order to not have problems with the search engines. Don't think that you have to change every word or sentence, because just isn't necessary.
If you have a website that teaches math, the search engines are not going to banish you because you have "2+2=4" and all of the other math sites have the same information. The search engines will give you a low ranking if every text and every link is the same as a more established site. If you keep posting quality content, you won't be banished by the search engines.
If you don't feel like rewriting, you can combine PLR articles into a new theme and edit any of the content that doesn't fit the theme. This is good for those who feel more comfortable by combining and editing rather than coming up with new words.
